Habitat for Humanity partners with people in your community, and all over the world, to help them build or improve a place they can call home. Habitat homeowners help build their own homes alongside volunteers and pay an affordable mortgage.
In response to the ever-growing need for shelter around the state, Habitat works in many ways: new construction, repairs to existing homes, advocacy for better laws and systems, disaster prevention and recovery, and more.
Habitat for Humanity of Oregon joins the world in mourning the death of former U.S. President Jimmy Carter and joins observances around the world to remember his life of service. He and Rosalynn Carter have served as Habitat for Humanity’s most famous volunteers over the 35 years they helped to build affordable housing with the organization.
