In 2024, Habitat for Humanity of Oregon co-launched the Unlocking Homeownership Coalition, uniting more than 40 organizations to advocate for solutions that make homeownership more attainable.
This collective voice is already shaping state-level policy and funding, helping ensure more Oregonians can achieve the security of a place to call home.
Through our Rural Ready Program, Habitat Oregon invested $1.2 million in grants and no-interest loans to strengthen project infrastructure for rural Habitat offices.
This support is leading to the development of more than 160 affordable homes, providing local families with the opportunity to purchase a home in their own communities.
Since 2023, Habitat Oregon has distributed more than $3.5 million in down payment assistance to first-time and first-generation homebuyers.
These investments are helping households overcome one of the biggest barriers to homeownership — the upfront cost — and unlocking pathways to generational stability and wealth.
This past April, Habitat Oregon co-hosted the Western Region Conference in Portland, welcoming more than 550 Habitat leaders and housing partners from across California, Hawaii, Oregon, and Washington.
