Tell us a little about yourself:
Hi there! I’m an Indonesian refugee camp-born Vietnamese American with Pacific Northwest roots. I spent nearly 15 years at Santa Clara University as an undergraduate and graduate student as well as a higher ed professional in student leadership and community-based learning. Since 2016, I have been committed to serving the Portland Metro region as a culturally responsive steward of homeownership.
What is your favorite to see or do in Oregon?
I love exploring nature’s gifts and savoring fun food finds with my family and friends. When my schedule permits, roller skating/dancing is definitely my favorite pastime.
What is a recent book, podcast or movie/TV show that you would recommend to others?
Yung Pueblo’s Inward Trilogy is a wonderful collection that I highly recommend for anyone who wants to create a little space for ongoing self-reflection and growth.
What does home mean to you?
Maya Angelou said it best, “The ache for home lives in all of us, the safe place where we can go as we are and not be questioned.”
What are you looking forward to most about this position?
I’m excited about the opportunity to collaborate with such a committed team and contribute to a mission that makes a significant impact. I’m also eager to learn more about the work of Habitat’s affiliates, near and far.
