Habitat for Humanity partners with people in your community, and all over the world, to help them build or improve a place they can call home. Habitat homeowners help build their own homes alongside volunteers and pay an affordable mortgage.
In response to the ever-growing need for shelter around the state, Habitat works in many ways: new construction, repairs to existing homes, advocacy for better laws and systems, disaster prevention and recovery, and more.
June marks National Homeownership Month, a time to celebrate the value of owning a home and to reflect on the barriers that still prevent many from achieving this milestone. In Oregon, where housing affordability and access remain pressing issues, this month serves as both a celebration and a call to action.
