Construction Manager at West Tuality Habitat for Humanity (Forest Grove, OR)
Status: Temporary/Part-time, 30 hours/week
Compensation: DOE: $18-$20/hour
West Tuality is looking for a general contractor or experienced builder to take on the role of construction manager. The person should possess broad knowledge of building trades and construction techniques as related to all aspects of home construction. They should be familiar with OSHA requirements for onsite safety. The Construction Manager should have excellent organization and interpersonal skills and be capable of leading an ever-changing work crew to meet the needs of the project underway. He/she should be able to train volunteers and assign them tasks appropriate to their skill level. The ideal candidate will have contractor or project management experience plus journey-man level experience in carpentry and technical skills in construction, with at least 1-2 years' experience of supervising/training others in the construction field. A commitment to safety and an ability to positively and professionally lead, teach, and mentor volunteers while meeting projects schedules is critical. Bilingual (Spanish) skills preferred. Previous experience with Habitat for Humanity as a volunteer or AmeriCorps member is helpful.
